GOL and American celebrate approval of commercial partnership by CADE
The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE, in Portuguese) of Brazil approved in February the terms and conditions of the commercial partnership between GOL and American Airlines, definitively confirming this decision on March 5th. With that, the customers of both airlines will have access to a wide range of destinations in both countries, also facilitated to Latin American countries, increasing the codeshare options, especially through the Smiles miles programs, from GOL, or AA Advantage, from American. Randall Saenz Aguero, Director of Alliances, International Expansion and Distribution at GOL, highlights, “GOL considers this approval an important step towards international recovery, bringing more products, services, and innovation to the US-Brazil corridor and better connectivity and experience at our main hubs.” Alexandre Cavalcanti, Regional Sales Director from American Airlines to Brazil, said “The evolution of the agreement will bring even more synergies for both companies, which have complementary services and aerial networks, in addition to creating more opportunities for joint initiatives that seek to stimulate air travel between the two countries.” –
